PARITY
The dimensions of the console table are purposefully exaggerated, making it taller and more narrow than is typical. It is perched on four carved legs that seemingly sprout from the table top with a shoulder-like joint. Each leg is unique, twisting, undulating and angling in different ways, highlighting the beautiful grain in the ash. They each feature a carved knuckle part way down. These knuckles are marked with deep hollows, the texture contrasting with the uniform table top. All the carving and shaping was done using an angle grinder, spokeshave, dremmel and cabinet scrapers. The piece was then scorched to blacken the surface of the wood and enhance the incredible texture of the Ash.
