Trouble was founded in 2023 by British designer Matthew Coules as a space for expression and creativity, with the goal of creating objects for the home by applying slower and more thoughtful manufacturing processes.
Troubles values come from a life long love of creating, learning and perfecting through finding out the hard way. The name Trouble itself comes from a belief that breaking rules and mischief often lead to a deeper understanding.
Our expertise lies in an understanding of materials and manufacturing processes and manipulating them to create items which hold a dialogue between their form and their use. The offering (which a lot is in development still) consists of furniture items such as stools, chairs and tables alongside a collection of home accessories such as candle sticks, vases, shelves and a coat rack. In short, we are interested in creating objects for modern living.
