Collection: NOT YET CERAMICS

Lena is a London-based ceramic artist with a background in illustration. After relocating from Moscow in 2022, she turned to clay as a way of navigating change and developing a new artistic language. Her work centres on character rather than beauty, exploring gestures that feel raw, vulnerable, or unresolved. Though abstract, her shapes carry a sense of movement, intention, or pause, like a feeling held just beneath the surface. Working with porcelain and stoneware, Lena often avoids commercial glazes in favour of slips, oxides, and textured finishes that suggest surfaces aged, weathered, or quietly alive. She uses traditional techniques of coiling and slab building, shaping each piece gradually into playful sculptural vessels that balance familiarity and strangeness.
