Calum Bettison’s work is a reflection of what he admires in people—humility, curiosity, quiet confidence, and conviction—translated into furniture, lighting, and interior accessories through material choice, form, and texture. His bold yet quiet design style is characterised by primitive shapes and a commitment to creating honest, transparent designs, where balance and proportion bring a sense of maturity.

Following a background in product and furniture design and a career in commercial interiors and exhibitions, Calum returned to a craft-based practice. He now runs an artisanal studio, working primarily with native hardwoods alongside metal, textiles, plastic, and ceramics, using reduction and experimental processes to extract simplicity from complexity.
