THE DESTRUCTIVE BEATUY OF WOOD
THE DESTRUCTIVE BEATUY OF WOOD
Richard Goldsworthy
Goldsworthy utilises salvaged teak from a 19th-century house and repurposed old pewter tankards to create this work. He intricately cast pewter, drawing inspiration from the captivating patterns of woodworm markings and the trees themselves. Adopting a restrained approach, he highlighted the natural colour of the wood, incorporating subtle charring to enhance its depth and grain. This technique creates a harmonious dialogue between the materials, each contributing its own unique narrative.
