Resilience was brought to life through an intricate and introspective journey that spanned several months, characterised by challenging technical hurdles. Resilience envelops the person who sits within, mirroring the all-encompassing nature of its own creation. The backrest and armrest were created through steam bending, maintaining the inherent strength in the long grain of the ash by allowing these pieces to be continuous. The grain choice throughout the piece allows it to appear as if it were grown, or carved from one huge block.
