Four vases - seed, bud, bloom, wilt - are held between layers of maple and walnut wood, gripped in offering by a mild steel arm. A chain drops from each vessel like an extended stem, nodding to the theatrical suspension of the traditional hanging basket. Perennially present across Britain, the hanging basket reads as permanent, though what it holds is time in the form of a flower; the most ephemeral thing of all.
