This hanging basket explores how contrasting materials can depend on and support one another. A carved wooden structure receives a small stone, through which a curved aluminium tube is fixed. The tube extends downward and connects to the organically shaped terracotta element through cast aluminium. Moving between carving, bending, modelling and casting, the piece develops as a sequence of material relationships, balancing weight and suspension, precision and irregularity, while allowing each connection to remain visible.
