Travel Light was a collaborative exhibition curated by Slancha in partnership with The Hoxton, Shoreditch, for London Design Festival 2026, exploring the relationship between design, travel and the objects we choose to carry with us.

Receiving over 200 submissions from more than 20 countries across six continents, the open call brought together a collection of 13 objects exploring travel, ritual, material and contemporary life on the move.

Presented within The Hoxton's Hox Shop, the collection featured everything from miniature vases and flat-pack bedside lighting to hangers and portable everyday objects. Each piece offered a unique interpretation of travel, challenging familiar ideas of portability, function and the things we consider essential.

Alongside the exhibition, The Collectors Lounge transformed The Hoxton's lobby into a curated interior featuring collectible furniture, lighting and objects from Slancha's wider creative community. The installation reimagined the hotel lobby as a space for gathering, discovery and living with contemporary design.

Together, Travel Light and The Collectors Lounge created a platform for emerging and established designers, bringing contemporary design into the everyday environment of The Hoxton and encouraging new conversations around the objects we make, use and live with.
