MARC SWEENEY

Marc Sweeney is a designer/ Maker based in Loch Lomond. He graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2015 before completing his masters in furniture design at Istituto Marangoni London in 2022.

Growing up in boat sheds with his father, who is a wooden boat builder by trade, surrounded by old machinery & other relics of Britain’s industrial past has fuelled a curiosity for how things are made.

Marc’s practice is multi-disciplinary. Working with a wide range of materials, old machinery, traditional processes and the preloaded narratives they possess. Often opting to design intuitively through the act of making, his work is a celebration of the making.
