Abigail works in the self-titled style of ‘Brutaissance’, blending divisions and distinctions of social class within her work. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, she now lives and works in Sheffield, UK.

Abigail studied and achieved a First-Class Honours in 3DDesign at the Manchester School of Art, before undertaking a postgraduate residency at the Bishopsland Educational Trust for silversmiths and jewellers.

She has since become a Silver Space Fellow and has a permanent studio at the Yorkshire Artspace.

“The concept and style of Brutaissance has developed from years of trying to rationalise and explain my experience within an industry that is so separate to my personal history and background. The two sides of my life feel consistently tensioned, with a push and pull factor that both frustrates and energises me. Within Brutaissance I feel I can channel these two perspectives- of my medium and experience into a harmonious relationship”.
