THE SUNDAY STOOL CLUB

THE SUNDAY STOOL CLUB

In the lead-up to the launch of the Hollow Stool by Neal Cameron, we came up with a fun little idea:
A fictional community, a weekly gathering, a club.

Enter: Sunday Stool Club.

What if this stool wasn’t just a piece of furniture, but something you’d want to carry with you, everywhere? To your friend’s gaff. To the greasy spoon café. To the park. Something desirable. Maybe even… cultish.

And if there were people who all felt this way, about the stool, wouldn’t they eventually find each other? Maybe they’d meet once a week. In the Botanic Gardens, say. Sit together. Swap stories. Maybe they’d even wear some great garms while doing so.

So, we staged a photoshoot. And a short film. We brought this imagined “club” to life.

Our models, decked head to toe in garments kindly provided by the legends at W2 Store in Glasgow, embodied the calm, stylish energy of the club. The looks, the attitudes, the stools: all came together to suggest something more than just a product launch. It started to feel like a real community was forming.

This launch also marks the first-ever collaboration between Slancha and W2, an exciting new series spotlighting emerging Scottish design talent through curated exhibitions, installations, and product drops. Neal’s Hollow Stools are the first in this ongoing showcase, with more Scottish creatives to follow.

Big love and thanks to the W2 team for their creative partnership and styling, to our brilliant intern Bridget for her support on the shoot, and to Cameron, our videographer, for his beautiful lens work.

And now, we’re left wondering—half-joking, half-serious:

Should we start a real furniture club?
Would you show up, stool in hand, ready to sit and sip and swap ideas every Sunday?

Because honestly…
We would.
